Home security advisers have repeated now and again the significance of getting help from your neighbor whenever security is in the picture. the increase in break-ins and burglaries have fueled more caution and cooperation among neighborhoods.

Sunshine Coast has especially taken another step in the citizens’ home security habits, establishing bonds and cooperation among neighbors.

“It’s great to see that with such large growth, the Sunshine Coast has retained such a strong sense of community, with 90% of people surveyed saying they know their neighbours and 86% feeling comfortable enough to ask them to look after the place when they are away,” Mr Sopinski said.

“And where there is that stronger sense of community and neighbourly cooperation there is less impact from crime.”

“Neighbours are your best alarm system,” Inspector Lewis said.

“Getting to know your neighbours is one of the best things you can do because they are your eyes when you are not home.”
